Overview
A Tale of Two Cities is a historical fiction written by Charles Dickens. It is about two famous cities – London and Paris, before and during the French revolution. The novel unfolds the plight of demoralised French peasantry, brutality shown by revolutionaries on former French aristocrats as well as parallel social lives in London. When Lucie wants to bring home her father, who was languishing in French prison for two decades, her family is also embroiled in the revolution. Meanwhile, a complex love triangle develops in a dramatic turn of events as the revolution wages on.
